Because the group I am working with might have short attention spans, I did most of the preparations beforehand, however it would be fun for kids to do the painting and other preparations...
Step 1: Cut a sheet of plastic canvas into a rainbow shape
Step 2: Paint stripes of rainbow colors on both sides of canvas
Step 3: Cut strips of ribbon in rainbow colors long enough to lace through the plastic and hang down on each side several inches. I bought thin ribbon at Walmart for 49 cents per roll, very inexpensive...
Step 4: Print or have the maker write out a poem on a small square of cardstock. Here is a poem I made up to go with the theme of the bible camp:

Step 6: String pony beads or other beads on each end of the ribbon, tie a knot around the last bead on each side. I am finding the knots come undone pretty easily though, so put a drop of glue on the knot.
Step 7: String the poem in the middle of the rainbow.
Step 8: I provided a suction cup hanger to stick to the window. It can also hang from the ceiling as a mobile...
